A spirited girl from Szechwan

At the beginning of writing this profile, I’ve been thinking lots of adjective that I can use for my title, such as spicy, sonsy, and vivacious, etc. However, none of these adjectives can perfectly match her good personality that I want to describe. I don’t know why every “hot” adjective relates to girl’s figure. The perfect adjective I’m searching is a paronomasia that can describe her generous temperament like the hot weather in Szechwan.

Li Cheng Zhang, 24 years old, graduated from China University of Communication, is the protagonist we are going to learn today. She’s a typical Szechwan girl. Studied Media Economics in college, she wants to do the job more like film and television investment and financing or TV program production instead of being a professional journalist. “Being a journalist has to endure the low salary and high responsibility, and if you want to earn more money, you have to take ‘red envelopes’ and be bribed and that’s definitely not what I want to be involved in making a partial report because of money.”, she said.

After college, she applied Tsinghua. Unlike China University of Communication is a school which puts their efforts on practical experience, Tsinghua is the one which focuses more on academy study. Therefore, she can expert both in practical experiences and theories.

During her student span in college everybody read Sina blog, ‘’almost everyone has his or her own account in Sina.” Yet, not many people use it now with the rising popularity of Weibo. She doesn’t like to read long paragraphs in Sina blog; instead, she enjoys reading short lines in Weibo which is also with many pictures.

Talking about future career, she’s not sure about stay in Beijing or not. There’s one thing in two sides. Beijing offers lots of opportunities especially for media related jobs; however, she said “In generally speaking, people can only bear one of them, either smog or high house price.” People living in Beijing are all Suffering from air pollution and high price to keep their living standard. In this case, she hesitates to stay here. “But I love Beijing; at least, I’ve already spent 7 years studying here.”, she said slowly at the end.
